History

The Avon / Avon Lake Rotary Club was chartered in 1967 by Rotary International. Its service district includes Avon, Avon Lake, Sheffield Lake and Sheffield Village. There were 20 charter members of the club, representing all aspects of the community including banking, education, law, finance, the clergy, police, fire, eldercare, manufacturing, real estate and hospitality.  Bon Russell, one of the charter members, is still a member of the club today!

In 2010, the club established the Avon / Avon Lake Rotary Foundation, Inc. as a public charity with non-profit 501(c)(3) status as per the Internal Revenue Code.

In July 2015, the club received approval from District 6600 and Rotary International to change its name  to the Rotary Club of North Coast, Northeastern Lorain County.
